$4,000 to train selected women within Mulang community in Nigeria, in business and credit management and provide them with credit to expand their income generating activities.

Women’s Aid Collective (WACOL)

30,000 to support the administrative and research works of the Executive Director of WACOL who is also the UN Special Rapporteur in Trafficking in Persons, especially women and children.

Centre de développement communautaire de Lokiaka

$1,000 se mobiliser 50 les femmes et les filles en Ogoniland pour une marche pacifique pour plaider contre la violence généralisée contre les femmes pour commémorer la 2011 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence.

Kudirat Initiative for Democracy (KIND)

$50,000 as matching funds for the setting up of KIND’s Centre in Abuja which will facilitate KIND’s effort to reach different government institutions in the organization’s efforts to get women into leadership positions in Nigeria.

Guidance and Counselling Development Association (GCDA)

$1,000 to organize advocacy meeting with relevant stakeholders in Gombe state to discuss issues of gender based violence. The project will also link vulnerable groups to legal and free health care service providers as part of the 2011 16 days of activism against gender based violence.

Echoes of Women in Africa Initiative (ECOWA)

$1,000 to develop, print and disseminate IEC materials with messages reflecting on gender based violence both in English and Pidgin English and distributed to motorists, cyclists on the streets, at private and commercial parks, taxis, tippers, lorry and tanker garages and motorcycle parks.

Alliances pour l'Afrique

$25,000 to support the organization of the Second National Feminist Forum in 2011 in Lagos. The Forum is intended to provide space for women to demand justice for unfavourable situations, influence policies and legislations in Nigeria.
