Eldoret Women for Development (ELWOFOD)
Eldoret Women for Development (ELWOFOD) is a feminist women led organisation founded in 2007 by 2 women ex-prisoners in Eldoret Langas Slum who had been convicted for 6 years for a crime they did not commit with the aim of enhancing the re-entry of women ex-inmates into their communities through economic skills development. The purpose of the grant is to empower women ex-prisoners to advocate for key stakeholders to address the causes that prevent women and young women’s ex-prisoners effective reintegration into society.

Eagle Wings Youth Initiative (EYWI)
EWYI was established in 2016 by a group of marginalized girls and women, particularly LBQ women, in Tanzania in response to harassment from society and the Government. The group advocates for a reduction in stigma and discrimination with a focus on the reproductive health rights and social inclusion of LBQ women. The grant will help address violence and police brutality against LBQ women in Tanzania by training LBQ women to raise their voices and demand for their rights, establishing access to legal support for LBQ women in Tanzania.

CEDI was formed in March 2008 by Mrs. Onose Martha to restore hope to the marginalised and was founded on human rights, democracy, peace and development. The organisation aims to protect and promote the psychosocial well-being and/or prevent or treat stress. CEDI also strengthens the community’s resilience for peace and conflict prevention through capacity building and gender sensitive social mobilization. The grant will be used to build the knowledge and skills of marginalized women and girls to help prevent VAWG and enhance their mental health and wellbeing.

Centre for Women in Governance (CEWIGO) was established in 2006 by a group of women and men who shared a common vision of governance that affirms the principles of gender equality, integrity, accountability, sustainable development and peace. CEWIGO’s mission is to mobilize women and build their capacity to influence governance at all levels and to increase awareness that where women and men share equally in the generation and maintenance of good governance, the benefits accrue to all society. The grant will be used to strengthen the capacity of female leaders to effectively participate in electioneering as well as to enhance their knowledge and skills in governance and leadership positions.

The organisation champions, expands and actualizes women and girl’s rights and social justice in line with their vision of a society where women and girls enjoy full rights and live in dignity. CREAW will use the grant to build an effective financial management system which is expected to improve the short- and long-term organisational performance.

Center for Disability and Rehabilitation Uganda (CDR-Uganda) was founded in 2007 as a community based organisation involved in the rehabilitation of children and women with special needs. CDR-Uganda provides research based disability information, capacity building, promotion of childhood and women disability rights, advocacy and disability budgeting. The grant will enable CDR to increase accessibility of sexual reproductive health rights among girls/young women with disabilities in Isingiro districts -Uganda.

Association Togolaise “Femmes et Sida” (ATFS) was founded in 1992 by a group of women from various backgrounds to promote the rights of women. ATFS is a national organisation in Togo that works mainly with women and girls. The grant awarded is to promote the voice and agency of women and girls with disabilities to lead the fight against eliminating violence against women and girls living with disability.

AMWIK was founded in 1982 by a group of women journalists prior to the UN Women’s Conference held in Nairobi in 1985, at a time when the voices of women and their issues received very little attention in the media. AMWIK’s objective is to promote an informed and resourceful society through professional development and transformation of the media to enhance the status of women in Kenya. The grant will be used to promote women’s participation in decision making regarding the COVID 19 recovery processes.

Association De défense Des Droits Des Aide-ménagères et Domestiques was founded by immigrant young women domestic workers and officially registered in 2013 as a result of the violence and injustices they were facing in the cities. The objective of the organisation is to enhance the value of domestic work by promoting and protecting domestic worker rights and improving their working conditions. The grant awarded will help to promote and protect the rights of girls and women domestic workers as well as to strengthen their inclusion and participation in decision-making processes that affect them. The project will take place in seven (7) African francophone countries namely Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Guinea Conakry, Togo, and Benin.
