Plateforme des Femmes pour la Paix en Casamance (PFPC)
Plateforme des Femmes pour la Paix en Casamance (PFPC) was set up by two major organisations, namely Kabonketoor and Usoforal, working for peace in Casamance in Senegal. It was created so that women could make their contributions to the peace process and to ensure that their concerns were factored in the peace negotiations. PFPC therefore provides the platform for women to speak with one voice. The grant awarded will be used to undertake a project which seeks to strengthen women in Senegal, Gambia and Guinea-Bissau’s involvement and contribution to peace, security and stability in the sub-region.

Organisation pour de Nouvelles Initiatives en Développement et Santé (ONIDS)
Organisation pour de Nouvelles Initiatives en Développement et Santé (ONIDS) was founded in 2013 and aims to ensure social and behavioral change within communities, push for comprehensive care and support for women survivors of violence, and advocate to end violence and various forms discriminations against women and girls. With the AWDF grant, ONIDS will build alliance, strengthen the capacity of girls and women to demand for a holistic response to violence against women and girls in 20 villages with high harmful traditional practices in the Center East of Burkina Faso.

One in Nine Campaign
The One in Nine Campaign was formed in 2006 as a feminist collective motivated by feminist principles and the desire to live in a society where women are agents of their own lives. It worked to highlight the injustices faced by survivors of sexual violence and the secondary victimisation they face while navigating the criminal justice system in pursuit of justice. The AWDF grant is a core grant given to support the organisation’s vision around amplifying the voices of South Africa’s feminist movements and all women in the country, using artwork and art forms to advocate and encourage dialogue and shifts mind sets around issues facing women.

North West Association of Women with Disabilities (NWAWWD)
Established in 2010, the NWAWWD is a nonprofit, regional level organisation working for the most marginalized and vulnerable grassroots women with disabilities. The aim is to strengthen the capacities of grassroots women living with disabilities to live dignified lives in society following a rights based approach. The grant awarded is to help commemorate the 2020 World AIDS Day event to promote the rights and mental wellbeing of women and girls living with disability and women and girls living with HIV/ADS.

The Network of Women in Growth (NEWIG) Ghana was formed in 2002 by Ms. Mawusi Nudekor Awity as a skills development NGO. The purpose of the organisation is to improve the conditions of the less privileged in society, especially women. The purpose of the grant is to train 15 young women through the provision of technical skills in three main male-dominated trade specializations namely Plumbing, General Electricals and Draughtsman ship.

NETRIGHT was started by a group of individuals and organisations as a response to identified gaps in the approach of CSOs working on women’s rights issues. NETRIGHT believes in feminist leadership and ‘power within’. The AWDF grant will be used to support the organisation of the Ghana Feminist Forum, a series of feminist dialogues and the documentation of the history and works of the Ghana Feminist Movement.

The National Association of Women’s Organisations in Uganda (NAWOU) is an umbrella organisation of women founded and women led organisations that registered as a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in 1993. Their mission is to promote the growth of a strong women’s movement in Uganda that advocates for the rights of women and enhances their social-cultural, economic and political status. With this grant, NAWOU will strengthen the livelihoods, incomes and businesses of smallholder women farmers by training them and linking them to agricultural, financial and insurance services.

Nation Association for Women’s Action in Development was founded in September 2010 by a group of women led by Mrs. Patience Muramuzi with a vision of creating a society where women and girls enjoy social, economic and environmental justice. With the grant, NAWAD will mobilise the project community to take action against VAWG and support the promotion of women and girls’ mental health through the #PaintMyHut project. The project will also use radio to educate the community on issues of women’s mental health and VAWG.

Moving the Goalposts (MtG)
Moving the Goalposts was founded by Sarah Forde in 2001 to bring girls together to play football while addressing problems that girls in Kilifi – Kenya faced such as high school dropout rates, early marriages and early pregnancies and providing them with opportunities to realise their rights and take up leadership roles. With this grant, MtG will amplify the voices of women and girls to advance SRHR among girls and young women. They will train parents and teachers who are the primary agents of socialisation /influencers of girls and organise football games to mobilise and educate girls and young women on their SRH rights.

Most at Risk Young Mothers and Teenage Girls living with HIV Initiative (MOYOTE)
Most at risk young mothers and teenage girls living with HIV Initiative (MOYOTE) was started in 2011 by Edith Nyambura to support young people who were infected and affected by HIV. MOYOTE aims to improve the quality of lives of young mothers and adolescent girls living with HIV/AIDS. The grant from AWDF will help MOYOTE to build the capacity of young women infected and affected by HIV/AIDS in advocating for the integration of mental and emotional health and wellbeing services into existing HIV/AIDS response services.
