The transition plan that followed led to an international search by an independent Executive Search company, culminating recently in the appointment of Fran\u00e7oise Moudouthe.<br \/>\nA pan-African feminist with roots in Cameroon, Fran\u00e7oise Moudouthe is passionate about advocating for women\u2019s rights and fostering sisterhood within African feminist movements. She is the founder of Eyala, a bilingual platform that amplifies the voices and lived experiences of African feminists. Having played an instrumental role in incubating Girls Not Brides, the global civil society partnership to end child marriage, and in spearheading its growth in Africa, Fran\u00e7oise has most recently worked as an international consultant, focusing on strategy, advocacy and movement-building for gender justice in Africa. She is a Board member of the Malala Fund and Womankind Worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am honoured to join AWDF, an organisation with an extraordinary legacy of redefining feminist movement-building and philanthropy in Africa and globally. I look forward to working with the AWDF team, grantee partners, and the wider African feminist movement, to nurture and support dynamic feminist activism in Africa in the years to come,\u201d says Fran\u00e7oise.<\/p>\n<p>Ndeye Sow, AWDF Board Chair added that \u201cwhile it is always sad to say goodbye to the type of visionary leadership shown by Theo as she grew and consolidated the work of our organisation, the Board of AWDF are delighted with the choice of Fran\u00e7oise to take over the leadership of AWDF. We know that her vision and passion will take AWDF even further on the amazing leadership journey started by Bisi Adeleye Fayemi, carried on through Theo Sowa and now in the hands of Fran\u00e7oise Moudouthe. We look forward to her leadership journey at AWDF.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fran\u00e7oise will join AWDF in the second week of November 2020. After a transitional period where she and Theo will work together as incoming and outgoing CEO, Theo will step out of AWDF in mid-December.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-CA\">[\/tp]<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-CA\">[tp lang=&#8221;fr&#8221; not_in=&#8221;en&#8221;]<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-12310 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/awdf.org\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Francoise-Moudouthe-headshot-high-res-322x450.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"358\" height=\"501\" \/>Les membres du Conseil d\u2019Administration de l\u2019AWDF \u00bb ont  le plaisir d\u2019annoncer la nomination de Fran\u00e7oise Moudouthe au poste de Directrice G\u00e9n\u00e9rale de l\u2019AWDF.<\/p>\n<p>En 2018, l&#8217;actuel Directrice G\u00e9n\u00e9rale de l&#8217;AWDF, Theo Sowa, a sollicit\u00e9 les membres du  Conseil d&#8217;Administration \u00e0 initier une transition de leadership au sein de l&#8217;organisation. Le plan de transition \u00e9labor\u00e9 apr\u00e8s cette demande a conduit au lancement d\u2019une recherche sur le plan international, d\u2019une nouvelle Directrice G\u00e9n\u00e9rale. Ainsi, les membres du conseil ont contract\u00e9 une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 ind\u00e9pendante de recrutement des cadres qui s\u2019est charg\u00e9e  du processus de recrutement et donc aboutissant r\u00e9cemment \u00e0 la nomination de Fran\u00e7oise Moudouthe.<\/p>\n<p>Fran\u00e7oise Moudouthe est une f\u00e9ministe africaine d&#8217;origine camerounaise qui se passionne pour la d\u00e9fense des droits des femmes et la promotion de la sororit\u00e9 au sein des mouvements f\u00e9ministes africains. Elle est la fondatrice d&#8217;Eyala, une plateforme bilingue dont l\u2019ambition est de lib\u00e9rer la parole f\u00e9ministe en Afrique. Fran\u00e7oise a jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le d\u00e9terminant dans la cr\u00e9ation de Girls Not Brides, le partenariat mondial de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 civile visant \u00e0 mettre fin au mariage des enfants, dont elle a dirig\u00e9 l\u2019action en Afrique pendant pr\u00e8s de six ans. Plus r\u00e9cemment, Fran\u00e7oise a travaill\u00e9 comme consultante internationale sur divers projets de plaidoyer pour les droits des femmes et de renforcement des mouvements f\u00e9ministes en Afrique. Elle si\u00e8ge aux Conseils d&#8217;Administration du Malala Fund et de Womankind Worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Je suis honor\u00e9e de rejoindre l\u2019AWDF. Depuis sa cr\u00e9ation il y a vingt ans, l\u2019AWDF a jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le d\u00e9terminant dans le renforcement du mouvement f\u00e9ministe et de la philanthropie en Afrique et dans le reste du monde. Je suis ravie de pouvoir travailler avec l&#8217;\u00e9quipe de l&#8217;AWDF, ses partenaires b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiaires, et l\u2019ensemble du mouvement f\u00e9ministe africain, afin de soutenir et de redynamiser l\u2019activisme f\u00e9ministe sur notre continent. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Ndeye Sow, Pr\u00e9sidente du Conseil d&#8217;Administration de l&#8217;AWDF a ajout\u00e9 que \u00abs&#8217;il est toujours triste de dire au revoir au type de leadership visionnaire montr\u00e9 par Theo alors qu&#8217;elle d\u00e9veloppait et consolidait le travail de notre organisation, les membres du Conseil d&#8217;Administration de l&#8217;AWDF sont ravis du choix de Fran\u00e7oise pour prendre la gestion de la direction de l\u2019AWDF. Nous savons que sa vision et sa passion emm\u00e8neront l&#8217;AWDF encore plus loin dans cet incroyable parcours de leadership commenc\u00e9 par Bisi Adeleye Fayemi, poursuivi par Theo Sowa et maintenant entre les mains de Fran\u00e7oise Moudouthe.
