Eldoret Women for Development (ELWOFOD) is a feminist women led organisation founded in 2007 by 2 women ex-prisoners in Eldoret Langas Slum who had been convicted for 6 years for a crime they did not commit with the aim of enhancing the re-entry of women ex-inmates into their communities through economic skills development. The purpose of the grant is to empower women ex-prisoners to advocate for key stakeholders to address the causes that prevent women and young women’s ex-prisoners effective reintegration into society.
