$10,000 to train selected number of women in Nessuit, Ndungulu, Sasimwani and Ololuluga in best poultry rearing practices and management, and a poultry rearing project set up for the trained women in the four communities. Part of the grant was earmarked for institutional support.

$1,000 to use sports (football, tug of peace, cycle) to educate the youth on HIV&AIDS issues especially in relation to Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV.

$1,000 to organize a symposium on HIV stigma & discrimination; train advocates as volunteers to carry out HIV prevention advocacy activities in the communities; to promote health and the adoption of safer sexual practices among vulnerable groups (PLHIV, Truck pushers, kayaye (female head porters) and long distance drivers).

$1,000 to organize sensitization fora for selected communities and radio programs (on Tricky and Maks FM stations) on gender based violence and its prevention.

$2,500 to enable the Executive Director participate in an International Conference on Gender Based Violence from 1st – 5th August, 2012, to be held at the Kenyatta University Conference Centre, Nairobi Kenya.

$40,000 for institutional support.

$10,000 to support the convening of the Fifth Annual West African Women’s Policy Forum in Freetown Sierra Leone held from November 5 – 6, 2012.

$24,000 to support the recruitment of an Executive Assistant to support the Executive Director for a period of two years.

$12,000 to undertake series of capacity building activities for women leaders and groups in political, leadership and gender equality issues.

$20,000 to undertake series of activities to empower women to participate in democracy and political governance processes at both the national and local government levels.
