{"id":8249,"date":"2017-08-07T15:35:10","date_gmt":"2017-08-07T15:35:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/africlub.net\/awdf\/?p=8249"},"modified":"2017-08-07T15:37:39","modified_gmt":"2017-08-07T15:37:39","slug":"8249-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/awdf.org\/OldSite\/8249-2\/","title":{"rendered":"JOB VACANCY: PROSPERA \u2013 THE INTERNATIONAL NETWORK OF WOMEN\u00b4S FUNDS, CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM OFFICER POSITION"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p><strong>Immediate supervisor:<\/strong> Deputy Director<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position summary:<\/strong> To develop and manage Prospera\u2019s capacity building program \u00a0(on learning, monitoring and evaluation; finance and administration; local<br \/>\nfundraising; advocacy, among others) as well as to be the liaison between member \u00a0funds from Africa and the network.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Principal tasks and responsibilities:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Work collaboratively with other team members to develop and define Prospera\u2019s program strategies.<br \/>\n\u2022 Lead the development of grant proposals for funding related to the capacity \u00a0building program or of work with funds in the African region.<br \/>\n\u2022 Manage and supervise capacity building program activities, designing work \u00a0plans and following up on the implementation of the program\u00b4s strategy and budget, on a global level.<br \/>\n\u2022 Identify, build and manage relationships and networks with member funds, stakeholders and civil society actors and government bodies in Africa, in<br \/>\ncoordination with the Director of Programs.<br \/>\n\u2022 Facilitate information sharing and coordination among all member funds, including those related to grant making and any other program processes<br \/>\nand activities.<br \/>\n\u2022 Provide technical assistance and coaching to member funds, on an ad hoc basis.<br \/>\n\u2022 Develop criteria, indicators and benchmarks to monitor and evaluate progress in meeting the capacity building program\u00b4s goals and advancing Prospera\u00b4s strategy.<br \/>\n\u2022 Contribute to producing a range of documents related to the program as well as in the region.<br \/>\n\u2022 Continually scan the fields related to women\u00b4s human rights, philanthropy,organizational development and capacity building, follow key developments and debates, keep abreast of the academic and popular literature, share key findings and lessons among colleagues in the field.<br \/>\n\u2022 Represent Prospera in public meetings and conferences.<br \/>\n\u2022 Represent Prospera in Africa and develop a relationship to support the Women\u2019s Funds based in the African region.<br \/>\n\u2022 Other related tasks as assigned.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Internal relationships<\/strong>: The Program Officer will be the point person for all work on the capacity building program, as well as the liaison between the network and the funds from Africa, and will therefore interact with all members of the team on issues relating to the program and the region.<\/p>\n<p><strong>External relationships:<\/strong> The Program Officer will have ongoing direct interactions with staff and women\u00b4s funds from Africa. The Program Officer will also interact with all consultants and external partners contributing to the capacity building program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Educational level:<\/strong> Masters degree in the social sciences or humanities is preferred.<br \/>\n<strong>Languages:<\/strong> English required, French and\/or Portuguese strongly preferred<br \/>\n<strong>Previous experience:<\/strong> 5-7 Years program management experience; management of learning, Monitoring and Evaluation methodologies; grant writing experience; developing programs for capacity building of women\u2019s or civil society organizations; management of relations with donors; writing narrative reports.<\/p>\n<p>At least seven years of professional experience leading or collaborating on civil society strategies related to women\u00b4s human rights and\/or philanthropy for women\u00b4s rightsin Africa.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Specific knowledge, skills and abilities:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Previous knowledge regarding gender issues and\/or global philanthropy preferred.<br \/>\n\u2022 Understanding of the needs of women\u00b4s rights organizations and funds, particularly in the key areas related to organizational strengthening and capacity building.<br \/>\n\u2022 Demonstrable success in planning and implementing programs related to organizational development or capacity building or in designing grantmaking programs.<br \/>\n\u2022 Very good verbal and written communication skills.<br \/>\n\u2022 Effective interpersonal, communication and team-working skills.<br \/>\n\u2022 Conscientious and detail oriented.<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to work independently, while still part of a team, and adapt to quick changing circumstances.<br \/>\n\u2022 Personal qualities of humility, capacity for self-reflection and a sense of humor.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Travel:<br \/>\n<\/strong>40% travel within Africa and to other international destinations required<\/p>\n<p>To Apply, please send a Cover Letter and updated Resume to Alexandra Garita at<br \/>\nagarita@prospera-inwf.org<\/p>\n<p><strong>To download Application in it&#8217;s entirety please click <a href=\"http:\/\/africlub.net\/awdf\/wp-content\/uploads\/Prospera-CB-PO.pdf\">\u00a0HERE<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Immediate supervisor: Deputy Director Position summary: To develop and manage Prospera\u2019s capacity building program \u00a0(on learning, monitoring and evaluation; finance and administration; local fundraising; advocacy, among others) as well as to be the liaison between member \u00a0funds from Africa and the network.
