Sunshine, Sunshine, Shining Through<\/span><\/p>\n

Lighting up, the sky so blue<\/span><\/p>\n

Sunshine, Sunshine, is it true<\/span><\/p>\n

The tears you cry are red in hue?<\/span><\/p>\n

Smiling, Smiling, a cheery face<\/span><\/p>\n

Shining through from a secret place<\/span><\/p>\n

Hidden from view, beneath the surface<\/span><\/p>\n

A twisted, painful ugly furnace<\/span><\/p>\n

Crying, Crying, silent tears<\/span><\/p>\n

The soundless scream that no one hears<\/span><\/p>\n

Broken, Tattered, a heart that fears,<\/span><\/p>\n

Shadows jeering, mocking her cries<\/span><\/p>\n

Mirror, Mirror, reflect the truth<\/span><\/p>\n

From within our souls\u2019 depth<\/span><\/p>\n

Let us see the rot and filth<\/span><\/p>\n

And break this destructive myth<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Aisha<\/a>Aisha is a writer and currently employed as a copywriter in Advertising. She is also enrolled at the University of Nairobi studying for a degree in Journalism and Media Studies. She has a strong interest in using social media as a platform to highlight, talk about and champion women\u2019s rights issues.
