To this end, <strong><em>our mission<\/em><\/strong> is to mobilize and disburse financial, human and material resources to support positive transformation in Africa.\u00a0 We believe that <strong><em>If<\/em><\/strong> women are empowered with skills, information, sustainable livelihoods, opportunities to fulfil their potential, plus the capacity and space to make transformatory choices, <strong><em>then <\/em><\/strong>we will have vibrant, healthy and inclusive communities.<\/p>\n<p>To achieve its vision and mission, the African Women\u2019s Development Fund provides grant and technical support to women\u2019s groups and organizations in Africa working on issues in line with the following themes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/africlub.net\/awdf\/womens-human-rights\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Women\u2019s Human Rights (WHR)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/africlub.net\/awdf\/economic-empowerment-and-livelihoods\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Economic Empowerment and Livelihoods (EEL)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/africlub.net\/awdf\/health-and-reproductive-rights\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Health and Reproductive Rights (HRR)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/africlub.net\/awdf\/governance-peace-and-security\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Governance Peace and Security (GPS)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/africlub.net\/awdf\/arts-and-culture\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arts Culture and Sports (ACS)<\/a> and<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/africlub.net\/awdf\/hivaids\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HIV\/AIDS<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The AWDF is inviting applicants working on specified areas to put in applications for support.\u00a0 The current call is opened from 10<sup>th<\/sup> August to 11th September 2015.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Applicants are to send in proposals with innovative but effective strategies to address issues relating to the specified focus areas under the various listed themes:\u00a0 The areas of focus are as follows:<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Women\u2019s Human Rights (WHR)<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the area of promoting Women\u2019s Human Rights, priority will be given to projects that enhance:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Women and girls access to justice especially around land and property rights<\/li>\n<li>Policy engagements on women\u2019s rights<\/li>\n<li>Addressing violence against women specifically around early &amp; child marriage; FGM; sexual violence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Governance, Peace &amp; Security (GPS)<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To enhance women\u2019s participation in decision making and peace building, projects that will be prioritised would focus on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Enabling women\u2019s voices to be heard and their interest represented at all levels of decision making<\/li>\n<li>Involving women in peace building activities<\/li>\n<li>Facilitating women\u2019s participation in leadership and governance processes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Economic Empowerment &amp; Livelihood (EE&amp;L)<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To increase income earning opportunities for women, projects to be supported should seek to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work with smallholder women farmers<\/li>\n<li>Work on climate change and food security issues<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Arts, Sports &amp; Culture (AS&amp;C)<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Projects to be supported under this theme will use arts, sports and culture to help address the negative images of women, by building women\u2019s talents and skills as well as to build their capacities to lead the advocacy for the promotion of the rights of women. L&#8217;appel en cours est ouvert du 10 Ao\u00fbt au 11\u00a0Septembre 2015. Les candidats ont \u00e0 envoyer des propositions avec des strat\u00e9gies novatrices et efficaces pour traiter les questions relatives aux domaines d&#8217;int\u00e9r\u00eat sp\u00e9cifiques, sous les diff\u00e9rents th\u00e8mes \u00e9num\u00e9r\u00e9s: les domaines de la mise au point sont comme suit:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Les droits des femmes (WHR)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Dans le domaine de la promotion des droits humains de la femme, la priorit\u00e9 sera accord\u00e9e aux projets qui am\u00e9liorent:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>L&#8217;acc\u00e8s \u00e0 la justice des\u00a0femmes et les filles en particulier autour des droits fonciers et immobiliers<\/li>\n<li>L&#8217;engagement politique sur les droits des femmes<\/li>\n<li>Rem\u00e9dier \u00e0 la violence contre les femmes en particulier d\u00e8s le plus jeun a\u00e2ge\u00a0et le mariage des enfants; MGF; la violence sexuelle<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Gouvernance, paix et s\u00e9curit\u00e9 (GPS)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Pour renforcer la participation des femmes dans la prise de d\u00e9cision et le renforcement de la paix, les projets qui seront prioris\u00e9s mettraient l&#8217;accent sur:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>L&#8217;Activation de la voix des femmes pour qu&#8217;elle soit entendue et leurs int\u00e9r\u00eats repr\u00e9sent\u00e9s \u00e0 tous les niveaux de prise de d\u00e9cision<\/li>\n<li>Impliquer les femmes dans les activit\u00e9s de consolidation de la paix<\/li>\n<li>Faciliter la participation des femmes dans les processus de leadership et de gouvernance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>\u00c9mancipation \u00e9conomique &amp; moyens de subsistance\u00a0(EE &amp; L)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Pour accro\u00eetre les possibilit\u00e9s de g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de revenus pour les femmes, les projets qui seront soutenus devraient viser \u00e0:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Travailler avec petites agricultrices<\/li>\n<li>Les travaux sur le changement climatique et les questions de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Arts, Sports et Culture (AS &amp; C)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Les projets qui seront soutenus dans ce th\u00e8me utiliseront les arts, les sports et la culture pour aider \u00e0 r\u00e9soudre les images n\u00e9gatives des femmes, en construisant les talents et les comp\u00e9tences des femmes ainsi que de renforcer leurs capacit\u00e9s \u00e0 diriger le plaidoyer en faveur de la promotion des droits des femmes. Le soutien portera:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>L&#8217;utilisation du sports, des arts et de la culture populaire pour diffuser des informations sur les droits des femmes et d&#8217;autres questions cl\u00e9s qui touchent les femmes, \u00e0 nouveau et difficile \u00e0 rejoindre les auditoires<\/li>\n<li>Faire entendre les voix et les profils des femmes dans tous les secteurs de leadership sur le continent en utilisant les m\u00e9dias comme la musique, des films, des documentaires, la t\u00e9l\u00e9vision et des productions radiophoniques et festivals nationaux et r\u00e9gionaux de films.<\/li>\n<li>Soutenir les femmes et les filles dans le sport, la culture et les sports<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>VIH \/ SIDA<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Les projets qui seront prioritaires dans le cadre de ce th\u00e8me seront centr\u00e9es sur:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lutter contre la stigmatisation et la discrimination contre les femmes et les filles vivant avec le VIH et le SIDA<\/li>\n<li>Promouvoir les droits des femmes vivant avec le VIH et le SIDA<\/li>\n<li>Les activit\u00e9s novatrices de pr\u00e9vention du VIH et des programmes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Crit\u00e8re d&#8217;\u00e9ligibilit\u00e9<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>L&#8217;Organisation demandeur doit exister\u00a0depuis au moins 3 ans<\/li>\n<li>L&#8217;organisation doit \u00eatre d\u00fbment enregistr\u00e9, au moins avec sa structure de gouvernement local<\/li>\n<li>L&#8217;organisation doit \u00eatre dirig\u00e9 par une femme et un accent mis sur les droits des femmes<\/li>\n<li>L&#8217;organisation doit avoir les structures organisationnelles n\u00e9cessaires<\/li>\n<li>L&#8217;organisation doit avoir un syst\u00e8me de gestion financi\u00e8re appr\u00e9ciable<\/li>\n<li>L&#8217;organisation doit \u00eatre capable de faire rapport sur les r\u00e9sultats du projet<\/li>\n<li>L&#8217;organisation doit \u00eatre fortement recommand\u00e9 par un organisme donateur, un b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiaire ou un partenaire de AWDF ou le bureau du gouvernement local<\/li>\n<li>L&#8217;organisme candidat doit remplir les formulaires de demande n\u00e9cessaires<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Taille des subventions<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Les subventions vers\u00e9es seront de l&#8217;ordre de 5000 $ \u00e0 $ 30,000.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Port\u00e9e g\u00e9ographique<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Les pays suivants sont particuli\u00e8rement encourag\u00e9s \u00e0 postuler;<\/p>\n<p>Burkina Faso, Cameroun, Ethiopie, le Nigeria, le Malawi, l&#8217;Afrique du Sud, la Zambie et le Zimbabwe<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>P\u00e9riode de subvention<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>La p\u00e9riode de subvention sera d&#8217;un an \u00e0 compter de la date d&#8217;attribution.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Attente<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Le b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiaire est tenu d&#8217;envoyer 2\u00a0rapports.
