African women and girls are subjected to many forms of violence, including rape, female genital mutilation (FGM), sexual assault, human trafficking and widowhood rites. Violence against women occurs in all aspects of women\u2019s lives and encompasses abuse of women\u2019s civil, cultural, economic, social and political rights.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">The AWDF\u2019s <b>16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence Grant <\/b>supports campaigns for the International Day of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, recognized on November 25.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">This grant enables African women\u2019s organisations to coordinate activities around this event, and continue to raise awareness and support for women in the face of these threats.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">In order to streamline our application process, AWDF is currently accepting proposals online.
