The One in Nine Campaign was formed in 2006 as a feminist collective motivated by feminist principles and the desire to live in a society where women are agents of their own lives. It worked to highlight the injustices faced by survivors of sexual violence and the secondary victimisation they face while navigating the criminal justice system in pursuit of justice. The AWDF grant is a core grant given to support the organisation’s vision around amplifying the voices of South Africa’s feminist movements and all women in the country, using artwork and art forms to advocate and encourage dialogue and shifts mind sets around issues facing women.
