Iam so impressed the work done by the AWDF to champion the cause of Women empowerment. Please note with great concern that, we have as many as TWO prominent female doctors missing in the Gambia since October 15 2010 for speaking against FGM, and much as Equality Now , a female human rights organization in USA has asked me to take action for their safety which I have done, please note again that, Equality Now -USA has asked me to take action on behalf of about 5000 girls who will suffer FGM in Tanzania over the current christmas season.I call on the AWDF to join me to help STOP such barbaric violence against women. Can any man on earth give birth to himself, as I asked the government of the Gambia.Infact, I salute Nana Sakyi- Ama, Hilda De souza, Bisi Adeleye of the AWDF for doing the best possible to support women across the world, especially the voiceless ones.A reminder is that, I work in partnership with The Hohoe Municipal Council of Queens, and also an active supporter of The Womens Manifesto Coalition-Ghana.My best regards to ABANTU-Ghana, Hamida Harrison of ABANTU.Sincerely, Raymond Ababio writes from Hohoe-Volta Region.Bye.
this incident occurred in Mahamed Mooge village -Hargeisa (Somalilland) The victim was 9 month child
Which the perpetrator was a 30 years old man who was from Muqdisho and he is one of the IDPs in Mahamed Mooge village.
The way it happened this rape were the victim’s mother was left the baby to the perpetrator at that time, as the mother was collecting
Her three years old daughter from neighbor. Soon after she came back in her house the child was crying loudly and she discovered
That her child was raped and the next morning the people of the village advised her to report the police, the perpetrator still the hand
Of the police and they arrested him while the police advised the mother and they said “take this child into
The hospital in order to cure and find what the perpetrator did to the child”.
The doctor told the victim’s mother that her child have already raped as seriously and he wrote prescription
Finally rape is not common happened in hargeisa during the recently years so that we are recommending to keep the human rights
Particularly the protection of women and children of IDPs/refugees in Somaliland.

On May 6, 2010 UNHCR staff have received the Victum’s Mother and report directly to UNHCR’s case manager, soon after Gaashaan
Women Development and IDPs Organization(GWDO) was called to provide direct assistance to this family which is about 90 $ dollar
Gaashaan have received recomandation from IDPs leader and Women that IDPs need more information and capcity building for rape
and crime prevention, mothers to be vigilant to their children such not to happen like this incedent.
finally we’re recommending here to keep the IDP’S RIGHT
People are being advised to report RAPE cases now in Nigeria
The initial stigma is fading little by little. Thanks to NGO’s that spearhead this. Although many victims still keep the trauma only to themselves and suffer in silence, but I know that gradually we will get there.
