$50,000 to research, produce and launch a report that focuses especially on women’s knowledge systems and their critical role in seed selection, household food and nutritional sovereignty and climate change resilience

$5,000 to create awareness on the current status of IDP women and children in camps through the development of a documentary and newsletters.

Lake Victoria Initiatives (LAVIN)

$5,000 to educate the women and girls in the community on the impacts of gender and forced migration along the borders of Isebenia-Migori and effective strategies to reduce the vice.

HIAS Refugee Trust of Kenya (HRTK)

$5,000 to strengthen the institutional capacity and existing work being carried out by the organization through this communication strategy.

Child Aid Organization Kenya

$1,000 to conduct a one day sensitization workshop for researchers, academia, professionals, defenders of human rights, and civil society groups to re-tell the story of ‘rape as a weapon of political violence’ in Kenya.

Africa Women’s Development and Communication Network (FEMNET)

$1,000 to organize Facebook and Twitter dialogues between 30 students from 4 institutions and FEMNET on issues of gender based violence and prevention; one day inter gender dialogue sessions; hold meetings between FEMNET members and university students in Kenya; undertake one-on-one interaction between programme staff and students for career guidance.

Young Women Leadership Institute (YWLI)

$15,000 as AWDF’s contribution towards strengthening the capacity of board and staff of YWLI, towards staff salary and organization of leadership institute for young women.
