$30,000 to train 20 midwives from 10 rural villages scattered in Gadarif localities (East Sudan) on safe delivery practices, pre-natal and post-natal care, anti FGM and HIV&AIDS awareness, child care and nutrition education.
$50,000 to enable it host and undertake follow up activities for the 2012 biennial assembly in Johannesburg, South Africa from 29 October to 2 November 2012.
$50,000 to support the hosting of the Biennial Conference in Africa in November 2012 in Johannesburg South Africa.
$10,000 to provide psychosocial and legal assistance to survivors of rape and women living positively in Sisonke and Amathole municipalities.
$10,000 to organize two training workshops and one follow up workshop each for selected women conflict management practitioners and passive victims engaging with conflict in Somalia.
$15,000 to organize awareness creation activities on the Domestic Violence Act, Devolution of Estate and Registration of Customary marriage and Divorce for 150 rural women, law enforcement officers and traditional leaders in Kailahun and Kono districts. Part of the grant was used to hold radio programmes to educate people on the various Acts.
$20,000 to educate and incorporate young women into the women’s movement in selected Francophone countries through training programmes around feminism theory and the organization of an intergenerational feminist dialogue.
$1,000 to conduct one-day training on gender based violence prevention.
$40,000 to support the 2013 edition of the Gender is my Agenda Campaign including ensuring the participation of the youth; Part of the grant was used to complete the FAS 2013-2017 Strategic Plan.
$10,000 to support the convening of the Fifth Annual West African Women’s Policy Forum held on November 5 & 6th, 2012 in Freetown Sierra Leone.
