Greetings
In times when funding is very limited and the cause for the inititiative that requiers funding increase, you come around. We appreciate.
I am involved in NGO and Faithbased organisation and due to lack of facilities i am going to make sure that, its not only my organisation that benefit and those that are not connected will send applications. Mothers union of the Angican Church,Maqhinebeni/Cezu Family and Community Project. I will also give the information to my sister organisations
Thank you for this opportunity. However, I’m concerned about whether our organization, Boys’ Essence Organization, can be considered for funding while we work with boys to address gender issues. Our approach might be different from everybody else’s coz we address these issues from the perpetrators side… not the victims’.
Consider this: One of the strongest influences on how quickly the epidemic spreads is the sexual behaviour and attitudes of men. It is usually men, not women, who determine when and how often to have sex, and whether a condom is used. And it is generally men who have multiple sexual partners, and therefore more opportunity to transmit HIV to their partners. Yet although young men are central to the course of the epidemic, they remain peripheral to the response to HIV. Until now this response has largely focused on protecting vulnerable groups from the virus, and neglected the groups that, often unwittingly, create vulnerability. It is important to address the needs of those whose behaviour is responsible for spreading the virus in the first place. Young men are one such group, sometimes creating risk for others – and often highly at risk themselves. Young men need to learn to respect their sexual partners and the human rights of women in general. And this will contribute towards helping to protect the next generation from infection.
I hope our proposal will be considered for grant award as we work towards our common future.
Thanks
I am happy to learn of this grant opportunity. I am going to submit a full report on what I want the grant to do in order to help those affected.
thank you.
@Mwangi – AWDF only supports women’s rights organisations or national organisations working on a project that benefits women. I appreciate the relevance of your group however it falls outside our criteria.
@All – Please note that proposals should NOT be placed as a comment on the website. All proposals need to be emailed to our Grants Administrator using the format described above and sent to awdf[@]africlub.net/awdf and grants[at]africlub.net/awdf. Many thanks
Constituency AIDS control committee – Mumias is an organization that coordinates HIV/AIDS response activities in Mumias district of Kenya. Every year the organization prepares activities meant to create awareness on the scourge, conduct counseling and testing and home visits targeting the infected for support purposes. This activities are carried out together with community based organizations throughout the AIDS week and eventually culminate into a centralized celebration on 1/1/12. This offer couldn’t have come at more appropriate time since we are in the process of planning for the same and if successful in the request we will put across, then more people will be adequately reached. thank you. EVOKCOM is a company that is down to respond to the plight of OVC and rural women suffering from effects of HIV and AIDS in Uganda. EVOKCOM has just completed a training of T.O.Ts in OVC care and Support funded by USAID through Private sector initiative in rural Ngora district in Eastern Uganda. The rural women are mostly left out in the World Aids day commemorations because such celebrations are usually held in town settings, where they can not reach.
This grant is timely and will help us get most of the strategic and active women from the rural Ngora district to a central place where we are planning together with the district to hold the celebrations. Will also use this grant to promote access to preventive services within the rural setting.
So, EVOKCOM will apply for this grant for new district of Ngora in Eastern Uganda.
