The International Workshop on Resource Mobilisation (IWRM) Africa will take place in Kampala, Uganda from 29th November to 2nd December 2011. The IWRM Africa is the Resource Alliance’s second African IWRM and is organised in parnership with The African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF). This 4 day workshop will address the major challenges faced by African NGOs in the areas of financial security and sustainability. The aim of IWRM Africa is to enhance the ability of African non-governmental organisations to mobilise resources for their cause. The Resource Alliance has a 10 year history of organising the IWRM. It is widely recognised as the leading training opportunity to building the fundraising capacity of non-profit organisations in the emerging economics. Host countries have included India, Thailand, Malaysia, South Africa and Kenya.

AWDF Bursary
AWDF has put in place a small bursary to sponsor a minimum number of existing AWDF grantees to attend the IWRM. The bursary will cover only airfare and local transport for residential and non-residential delegates respectively. Applying Grantees should be ready to cost share and priority will be given to applicants who state this in their application. All successful applicants must be ready to submit a report from the workshop following a set of guidelines to be provided by AWDF. Please note that only one staff per organization will qualify for the bursary.
How to apply for the AWDF Bursary
Organisations applying on behalf of staff members should submit the following documents:
Application letter including the following:
- Name of organisation
- Address (both physical and postal)
- Telephone and Fax number
- Contact person’s name and title
- Applicant’s CV
- A maximum of 2 pages write up explaining how you intend to utilizing skills acquire from the IWRM within your organisation.
- A signed recommendation letter from applicant’s organizations
- A budget
Important information
The selection process will be highly competitive and will adhere strictly to the entry requirements. No application will be reviewed without a signed recommendation letter from applicant’s organisation’s head. I am working with Better HAG Uganda and am so glad to learn about this bursary scheme for the upcoming workshop. It is going to be a chance for women activists to share ideas on how best resources can be mobilized to sustain different interventions geared to support women.

Hi there,
I am working as Department manager for Resource Mobilization and Business development, of a local NGO in Southern Ethiopia called Wolaitta Development Association. I am also director of Ethiopian Society for Consumer protection. The workshop will be of great help. But as we did not plan for it budget constraints will be our problem What can the facilitators do to assist organizations like mine?

I am ALTAYE Ayele, Executive Director of Wolaitta Development Association which is one of local NGOs in Ethiopia.
I suppose this is good chance for our association if one of our staff participates in the workshop. But the problem is the source of budget to cover the expense to and during the workshop. Do we have any room to the indicated problem?

Presently am not a grantee, the last time we applied we were under three years and therefore was not eligibile for funding.
I will like to attend the conference please let me have information about hotel accomodation,costing and all it will involve.

I am Mrs Kachi Ibeh, a lawyer from Nigeria, working with an NGO known as ABC Life Organisation( ADVOCACY FOR BETTER COMMUNITY LIFE ORGANISATION), which focuses on the education and empowerment and protection of the rights of rural women and youths.
The theme of the forthcoming workshop is most relevant to the survival of
organisations such as my. I congratulate you the organisers for your concern. Please how can I attend if I want to do so on my own. Should I miss this, what are the possiblitiies of attending such programmes in the future? Thanks.
