Founder
Dr. Tadria is one of AWDF founding members. She is an experienced researcher and consultant with a background in institutional management and social development research.
While lecturing as an Associate Professor at Makerere University, she founded Action for Development, an NGO working to empower women and influence legislation and policy for gender equality in Uganda. She also founded the Mentoring and Empowerment Programme for young Women (MEMPROW), a programme for developing young women’s leadership and promoting their rights within learning institutions in Uganda.
Founder
Her leadership established AWDF as a leading institution in the area of social change philanthropy in Africa, and as one of the most effective feminist philanthropic institutions globally. She is also one of the founders of the African Feminist Forum (AFF) and served on the AFF Working Group from 2006-2016.She is the recipient of the 2011 David Rockefeller Bridging Leadership Award, one of the most prestigious awards in the field of philanthropy, given by the Synergos Institute, New York. In June 2011, the New African Magazine named Bisi as one of the 100 Most Influential People of Africa.
Taaka has a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from Harvard University, Boston MA, and a Juris Doctorate in Law from Columbia University, New York. She also has a Certificate in Organisational Development from the Organisation Development Centre & the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland, United States and an Advanced Certificate in Coaching from the International Coaching Academy, Melbourne, Australia. She is a member of the International Coaching Federation

Treasurer
Arielle Enninful is the Chief Operations Officer of General Trust Company Limited (GENTRUST). Prior to joining GENTRUST, she worked with Ecobank Ghana Limited (Ecobank). She has over twelve years of work experience in the financial services industry.
Mrs. Enninful has held several leadership roles in her career. She set an industry standard by brokering the first finance lease deal by a local bank, for 100 taxis in partnership with an insurance company and an automobile dealership. During this period she was elected the first female Vice President for Ghana Association of Leasing Companies (GALCO). Mrs. Enninful also spent time at US Bank Nebraska prior to joining Ecobank.
Mrs. Enninful holds a Masters in Business Administration from Bellevue University, Nebraska, USA, a Bachelor Degree in English with Linguistics from the University of Ghana, Legon, and a Diploma in Public Relations from the London School of Public Relations. She is married with two sons.
Before venturing into Private Sector, Agnes had a long term career with UNDP as a Communications Specialist spanning over 20 years. She has undertaken consultancy work with UN Women, UNFPA and ILO Southern Africa on issues of Gender, Girl Child Empowerment and promotion of Maternity Protection for Informal Workers. She was also part of the UN Observer Mission to the first South Africa Democratic Elections in 1994.
Agnes has coordinated, co-edited and produced a number of publications: Opportunities and Challenges of using ICT for improved public sector performance (Case Studies Malawi, Zambia and Lesotho); Best Practice Documentation on Providing Integrated Sexual Reproductive Health and HIV Services for Swaziland Family Life Association Swaziland; Guide/Manual on Providing and Implementing Sexual Reproductive Health and HIV Services; and UNDP Capacity Utilization of National Volunteers for Mitigating HIV/AIDS in Zambia; Africa Women Leadership (Gender Culture and Development); UNW Africa UNiTE – From Regional Campaign to a Vibrant Movement to End Violence against Women and Girls.
Agnes is a Cherie Blair Foundation Mentee Alumni.
Diana Ofwona is the Resident Representative of UNDP in Niger since April 2019. As the main interlocutor with the Government of Niger on behalf of UNDP, her key assignment is to provide substantive leadership for sustainable and inclusive development, with particular focus on AU Agenda 2063 and UN Agenda 2030. She is also responsible for the formulation of the UNDP Country Strategy for Niger, mobilising resources and partnerships for Niger’s development agenda, and providing strategic guidance and oversight for UNDP’s operations in Niger.
In her current assignment, she is also in charge of leading UNDP Niger’s strategy for the Sahel, the Lake Chad Basin and Liptako Gourma Regions in mitigating the effects of violent extremism, notably the Boko Haram and ISWAP1 insurgencies, through a robust, coherent and integrated approach to security, humanitarian and development challenges under the $100m Regional Stabilisation Programme.
A graduate of the University of Nairobi (M.A), Diana has over 30 years’ work experience in government, private sector, international NGOs, the Academia and the United Nations. Prior to her current appointment, Ms. Ofwona held, from 2015 to 2018, the position of Regional Director of the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), in charge of all countries in West and Central Africa (WCAR). Ms. Ofwona has held other senior positions in the UN across three continents (Africa, the Caribbean and North America), notably as:
1. Regional Director, UNIFEM Central Africa based in Kigali, Rwanda (2010-2015).
2. Special Advisor to the UN Assistant Secretary General/UNDP Regional Director for Africa based in New York, USA (2006-2008).
3. UNDP Deputy Resident Representative based in Niamey, Niger (2004-2006).
4. UN Policy Analyst for Southern Africa based in Pretoria, South Africa (2002-2004).
5. Policy Analyst, UNDP in Trinidad and Tobago (June to September 2002) – UNDP Trainee.
6. UN Regional Advisor for the Great Lakes Region based in Kigali, Rwanda (2000-2002).
A leader and senior international development practitioner, she has proven capacity to shape and lead socio-economic policy. Ms. Ofwona has served on several high-level boards and committees, notably the UN high-level Strategy and Management Review Panel commissioned to develop a new strategy for UNDP in Africa. She also served on the Boards of the North-South Institute (Canada), the Makerere Female Scholarship Foundation (Uganda) and the MTN Foundation (Rwanda).
Diana is a life member of the International Association of Students of Economics and Business (AIESEC) and the Lions Club International.
