$10,000 to support the convening of the Fifth Annual West African Women’s Policy Forum in Freetown Sierra Leone held from November 5 – 6, 2012.
$24,000 to support the recruitment of an Executive Assistant to support the Executive Director for a period of two years.
$12,000 to undertake series of capacity building activities for women leaders and groups in political, leadership and gender equality issues.
$20,000 to undertake series of activities to empower women to participate in democracy and political governance processes at both the national and local government levels.
$ 5,000 to organize a follow-up workshop for 40 practicing midwives on the proper use of the partograph as a tool for the prevention of prolonged and obstructed labor
$20,000 to support awareness creation and free breast screening in senior high schools and tertiary institutions as well as support post-surgery patients through the provision of goody bags; Part of the funds supported the organization’s administrative cost.
$20,000 as institutional support to sustain key persons in the organisation to ensure that BCI continues its outreach activities on breast cancer awareness, counselling services and provide hospice services to patients with breast related services.
$10,000 to improve the animal housing facilities for 5 women groups supported to engage in goat and pig rearing thereby reducing the risk of poor housing related diseases. Part of the grant was used to support staff remuneration.
