16 days of activism against gender violence is an important days that needs to be sensitized like the way HIV has been done, there is need to campaign vigorously and make sure that we reach every woman, especially in the rural areas of my country Zambia.

we should all act towrds preventing and protecting violence against women in Africa and every where,
Great initiative, we must engage in more awareness creation to attitudes of men and boys to bring about shifts in paradigms. Women and girls also need to be empowered to demand and claim their rights. The blog is very useful in doing this. Thumps up AWDF and keep it up. More work is needed in the rural parts of Upper East Region of Ghana where we work. We must pay special attention to women with disabilities.
Its really a good program. Will you also include Civil Society Organizations so that the funding reaches out to all who need it becaucause of different strategic approaches as regards the program. By mentioning CBOs other levels are left out.
we are based in the eastern part of uganda in manafwa district and interested in submitting a proposal for a grant. violence aganist women is rapant in this area something has to be done!!!!!
In Tanzania we need to meet women who have disabled child .The main violence against them is if the family has disabled the woman is owner of the child and if the child is normal the father is the owner of the child .lets works together to change these community

There is alot of violence against women in my area that is the central province of zambia in Mkushi district. We are interest to apply for the grant for sensitatization programs.
Countless women and girls are exposed to violence every day in Uganda and the world over. The extent of this atrocity is impossible to measure due to failure to report sexual and physical violence especially when it occurs within the domestic sphere, lack of awareness on human rights and unavailability of service providers for victims of abuse especially in the rural areas.
we believe there is still room for transformation–thus ending all violence against women and girls.
Just to restrict this to women NGOs may be abit narrow, because someorganisations that do this kind of work may not be necessarily women Org. would hey not be judged on the work they do through the justification part.
it is agood programme you people are running you need to continue and i pray to God that should give you courage to implement it succesfully (student busoga university in uganda)
AWDF initiative could not have come at a better time. As a gender activist i am aware there is high rate of gender-based violence especially in post-conflict situations. Just a flash back on Siera Leone, DRC, Dafur region, Kenya in 2007 post election violence. These are just to mention a few. The idea is noble and we must hail it to take root and trickle down to the grassroot.
Kudos AWDF, Women issues have long been ignored, but thank God you are here to listen to the plight of women. Our organization works on empowering women to make informed decisions and rescuing girls from female genital mutilation and early marriages. we look forward to working with AWDF and other like minded organizations to see that women are given their full rights!!!!!!!!
hello, could you please send me the application form and guide line documents.
Thanks
