AWDF 2014 Writers Workshop Participant, Eunice Kilonzo, Wins ‘Young Journalist of the Year’ Award
[tp lang=”en” not_in=”fr”]We are proud to announce that Eunice Kilonzo, Kenyan journalist and a participant of AWDF’s Women Writers Workshop held in July last year, received the 2015 ‘Young Journalist Of The Year’ Award at the Media Council of Kenya Journalism Awards in Nairobi, Kenya.
Eunice’s entry article that earned her the award, “Blood on the floor, worse on the bed”, tells the story of Irene Chelegat, a young Kenyan woman, who at 13 years old was married, circumcised and divorced in a year after developing childbirth complications.

[tp lang=”fr” not_in=”en”]Nous sommes fières d’annoncer qu’Eunice Kilonzo, journaliste kenyanne et participante d’AWDF’s Women Writers Workshop tenu en Juillet l’année dernière, a reçu le prix du “Jeune Journaliste de l’année” lors des prix du Conseil des médias et du Journalisme du Kenya à Nairobi, au Kenya.
L’article d’admission d’Eunice qui lui a valu le prix, “Du sang sur le sol, pire sur le lit», raconte l’histoire d’Irene Chelegat, une jeune femme du Kenya, qui, à 13 ans était mariée, excisée et divorcée en l’espace d’un an après un accouchement avec complications.
