Sarah Mukasa
DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMMES

* Ugandan *Worked at Akina Mama wa Afrika as the Programmes Manager for the Eastern Africa programmes. *BA in Business and Management from the University of East London * MSc in NGO Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science. *Feminist activist with extensive experience of advocacy at international, regional, and national levels. *Participated in a number of key UN meetings, where she has coordinated advocacy strategies for the various women's interest groups, including the African Women"s Caucus, and the Solidarity for African Women’s Rights a campaign for the ratification and implementation of the Protocol To The African Charter on Human and People’s Rights on the Rights of Women in Africa.

*Worked in local and health authorities as a community development officer in the UK, developing services for minority ethnic communities in London and in particular refugees and asylum seekers. *Special interest in the areas of race as it interfaces with gender, sexual rights and the issues relating to the integrity of women’s bodies, as well as the institutional development of women’s organisations *Trainer and facilitator specialising in organisational development of NGOs, feminist theory and practice, and influencing policy. *Coordinated training for The African Women’s Leadership Institute at Akina Mama wa Afrika, *Facilitated meetings and training sessions for the Fund as well as, DANIDA (Uganda), ActionAid International, (Uganda) a number of regional and national women’s NGOs and government institutions, on capacity building, team building and strategic planning. *Member of the Working Group of the African Feminist Forum.

Grace Amenyogbeli
ADMINISTRATION MANAGER

*Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators. * Finance Officer, African Women's Development Fund (AWDF). * Four years experience as Assistant Administrator - SNV- Netherlands Development Organization. *Seven years experiences as Project Accountant and three years experience as Programme Accountant - Technoserve.

Gertrude Bibi Annoh-Quarshie
FINANCE MANAGER

Gertrude Bibi Annoh-Quarshie is the Finance Manager. She is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) of the United Kingdom and also a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG). She is also an alumna of the University of Ghana.
Prior to joining AWDF she worked with INDEPTH Network an international Non –Profit Organisation based in Accra, Ghana as the Senior Finance Manager.
She also has six years of experience with KPMG, an International Audit Tax and Advisory firm where she developed key competencies in; analyses of strategic business objectives and processes; preparation, review and analysis of financial statements; review and assessment of effectiveness and reliability of internal control systems; review and evaluation of credit control policies and procedures and review of risk management processes and procedures.

Zeytuna Abdella Azasoo
PROGRAM OFFICER MONITORING & EVALUATION

Zeytuna holds a Masters Degree in Economics with two postgraduate diplomas in Urban Poverty Reduction and Children, Youth & Development. She also holds diploma in Commerce from Commercial College – Addis Ababa , Ethiopia . Zeytuna has worked in various capacities for over 15 years in Ethiopia and Ghana . She has been working in programme coordination and management, decentralized development planning, policy analysis, gender analysis and child-centred development. Prior to joining AWDF, Zeytuna worked with WaterAid (UK) Ghana country programme.

Beatrice Boakye-Yiadom
PROGRAM OFFICER HIV/AIDS

*Interested in working on HIV/AIDS issues among the marginalized and hard to reach populations. *Extensive experience in community entry, public education activities, and HIV/AIDS peer educator training. *Trained Voluntary Counseling and Testing Counselor, * Extensive field experience, qualitative and quantitative research. *Many years of experience in Public relations and advertising. *Formerly with ADRA, Ghana and Yankah and Associates. *Masters degree in Communication Studies, B.A. English & Russian languages from the University of Ghana, Legon.

Nafi N. Chinery
PROGRAM OFFICER CAPACITY BUILDING

Social development worker with close to ten years experience in development work. Worked in various positions at Oxfam GB; from research through to programme development and management. Main focal interests are around issues of livelihoods, gender mainstreaming in development and strengthening resource to poor community capacity to overcome poverty. Holds an MA in Social Development and Sustainable Livelihoods from University of Reading , UK . Bachelor of Arts and Diploma in Education both from University of Cape Coast , Ghana .

Joan Koomsoon

Joan Koomson

Joan comes to AWDF from Plan Ghana where she worked in Resource Mobilization for 4 years. Prior to that, she worked as an Alternative Employment Specialist on the World Bank sponsored Government of Ghana Public Sector Restructuring Project coordinated by the National Institutional Renewal Programme (NIRP) in the Office of the President. She has also had extensive experience in working in the NGO sector in the areas of publicity, fundraising and grants management. She holds a B.A (Hons) Degree in Sociology with Spanish, a Certificate in PR, Advertising and Marketing from the Ghana Institute of Journalism and an MBA in Human Resource Management from the University of Ghana Business School. She is currently a Board Member of Ghana’s Social Investment Fund (SIF), a fund set up by the Government of Ghana, the AfDB and UNDP to provide direct targeted and sustainable assistance to Ghana’s urban and rural impoverished communities.

PROGRAMS OFFICER (FUNDRAISING & COMMUNICATIONS)

Experience and Skills: Nana’s varied career has included being the director of a social enterprise, an advertising and marketing executive for West Africa magazine and a leadership trainer for the Metropolitan Police Service in London.

Nana’s experience in the non-governmental sector has included being on the management board of the London and South East Regional Global Dimension Consortium as well as a founding member of the Korle Bu Family Fund.

Nana is a trained facilitator, accomplished public speaker and a member of The Association of Coaching. Nana holds a Diploma in Performance Coaching, a Certificate in Conflict Mediation and is a graduate of the University of North London with a BSc (Hons) in Communications and Cultural Studies and holds a MSc in Gender and Development from the London School of Economics.
