Hellen NUTAKOR – Finance Manager
Hellen is a proficient Chartered Accountant with over 12 years’ experience in corporate reporting, external audit, internal controls, treasury management, taxation and corporate governance.
Prior to joining AWDF she was the Chief accountant of RMG Ghana Ltd. She also worked as an audit senior at Ernst & Young Ghana where she acquired experience in diverse industries amongst others manufacturing, extractive, construction, finance and governmental sector.
Hellen is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA-UK), she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B’com) from University of Cape Coast and an Executive MBA (Finance) from University of Ghana Business School, Legon.
She is passionate about the total well-being of women and the African woman for that matter. She enjoys reading and listening to music.

Pontso Mafethe- Director of Programmes
Pontso has over 25 years of experience working in social justice, particularly women and girl’s rights in Africa; themes and contexts that have both impacted and inspired her personally and professionally. She is a keen supporter of the leading contribution that African women and their organisations across the world make to the feminist transformation of women’s rights in Africa and worldwide. Her track record includes successful work addressing violence against women, women’s leadership, and economic strengthening with diverse organisations including Action Aid, Comic Relief, International Planned Parenthood Federation, the International Union for the Conservation of Nature, and as a freelance consultant. She also has decades of experience in strategy development and delivery, programme development and implementation, philanthropy and grant making, resource mobilisation, training and facilitation and people and project management.
Pontso has been a member of Steering Committees for The Red Umbrella Fund and The Girl Generation, is a Board member of EMpower – The Emerging Markets Foundation and Make Every Woman Count, and was selected twice as one of the BBC 100 Women.

Gertrude Bibi Annoh-Quarshie is currently the Director of Operations at AWDF. She is in charge of leading and directing the operations, finance, human resource and administrative functions of AWDF to ensure they are of the highest quality. She will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing short to long term strategies aimed at optimising AWDF’s general support systems and complex financial management systems.
She is a chartered certified accountant with over 16 years of experience in audit, finance, accounting and administration in not-for profit as well as for profit organisations. Since joining AWDF in 2007, she has contributed to strengthening the processes, policies, systems and structures that ensure that AWDF remains a credible and sustainable organisation. She authored a publication on good practice in financial management for women’s rights organisations.
She is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) of the United Kingdom, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG). She has a B.S. degree and an Executive MBA in Finance from the University of Ghana. She currently sits on the board of ISIS-WICCE/WIPC a regional feminist organisation with a mission to ignite women’s leadership, amplify their voices and deepen their activism in re-creating peace.
Gertrude is passionate about women’s rights and the pursuit of dignity, equality, respect and justice for African women and girls. Integrity and ethical leadership are at the forefront of her personal and professional values, influencing her day-to-day decision making and actions.

Elle est chargée de diriger et d’orienter les opérations, les finances, les ressources humaines et les fonctions administratives de l’AWDF afin de garantir leur qualité optimale. Elle sera responsable de la conception, du développement et de la mise en œuvre de stratégies à court et à long terme visant à optimiser les systèmes de soutien général et les systèmes complexes de gestion financière de l’AWDF.
Elle est comptable agréée et possède plus de 16 ans d’expérience en audit, finance, comptabilité et administration dans des organisations à but non lucratif et à but lucratif. Depuis qu’elle a rejoint l’AWDF en 2007, elle a contribué à renforcer les processus, les politiques, les systèmes et les structures qui garantissent que l’AWDF reste une organisation crédible et durable. Elle est l’auteur d’une publication sur les bonnes pratiques en matière de gestion financière pour les organisations de défense des droits des femmes.
Elle est membre de l’ Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) du Royaume-Uni et de l’Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG). Elle est titulaire d’une licence et d’un Executive MBA en finance de l’Université du Ghana. Vivian Korkor ACHEAMPONG Human Resources Manager
Vivian Korkor Acheampong, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading the development of HR Strategy, Processes, Systems and Interventions to ensure the alignment of the HR role to the AWDF’s Strategy.
Vivian, a certified HR Practitioner of the Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioners (IHRMP), Ghana, is poised to contribute to the human resource management discourse to promote paradigm shift at the national and global levels. She has practiced mainly in the non-governmental and public sectors and has tremendous skills in HR strategy development, planning and implementation of organisational redesign/restructuring and the development of HR policies and manuals. Vivian also has excellent skills in change management processes and has led teams to develop reward-based Performance Management Systems {PMS} to promote team motivation and increased productivity in Ghana. Beyond Ghana, she has supported the development of some organisations in the International Non-Governmental sector of some African countries including Liberia, DRC and Somaliland.
Vivian holds a Master of Arts degree in Development Studies specializing in Human Resources and Employment (HRE} from the Institute of Social Studies (ISS) now Erasmus University in The Hague, the Netherlands. She also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of Ghana, Legon and Certificates in Public Administration and Organisation Development. Her strong people’s skills combined with her academic background and experience enable her to blend HR practice with development and rights-based issues in a unique way. She has special interests in safeguarding and corporate governance issues.

[tp lang=”en” not_in=”fr”]Beatrice is the Grants Manager at the African Women’s Development Fund with the key responsibility of providing leadership and direction for the grants making function. Beatrice also manages the HIV/AIDS portfolio at the Fund. Beatrice has a Masters’ Degree in Communication Studies and an Executive Masters in Business Administration from the University of Ghana. She also holds an LLB from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). Beatrice is an expert in grant-making design and management and community development programmes with special expertise in the areas of public health and social research. She has special interest in working with small women’s groups.[/tp]

She has over 20 years’ experience working in the non- profit sector on the African continent with extensive global outreach. Prior to joining AWDF Abigail worked in the area of Democratic Governance and social justice issues with the Institute of Economic Affairs, Africa leadership Forum and the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs in Ghana
The combination of her social justice philanthropy and feminist background, experience of women’s rights coupled with her International Relations experience in political economy, practice in negotiations, partnership management and democratic governance background gives her a unique and grounded ability to blend practice and theory of promoting African women’s rights, women’s leadership and development.
In 2008 she received the Feminist Leadership in Africa award from the Akina Mama Wa Africa (AMWA) Leadership Institute and in 2015 she represented CSO’s in Ghana at the African Growth and Opportunity Act meeting in Gabon having been recommended by the USA State Department and the United States Aid for International Development (USAID) to represent CSO’s in Ghana.
Abigail graduated from the University of Ghana with a Bachelor of Arts in English, and obtained an MA in International Relations from Boston University, European programme, UK. She has also received specialist training in International Negotiations from the Centre for Applied Studies in International Negotiations (CASIN), Geneva, Switzerland.[/tp]

Elle a plus de 20 ans d’expérience professionnelle avec les organisations non-gouvernementales non seulement sur le continent africain mais aussi à l’échelle internationale. Avant de rejoindre AWDF, Abigail a travaillé dans le domaine de la gouvernance démocratique et la justice sociale avec l’Institut des affaires économiques; le Forum sur le leadership en Afrique et l’Institut national démocratique pour les affaires internationales au Ghana.
Sa philanthropie basée sur la justice sociale et son expérience en tant que féministe ; ses connaissances sur les droits de la femme associées à ses relations internationales dans l’économie politique, les négociations, la gestion des partenariats et la gouvernance démocratique lui donne une capacité unique de combiner la pratique et la théorie pour la promotion des droits de la femme africaine, le leadership des femmes et le développement.
En 2008, elle a reçu le prix pour le leadership féministe en Afrique de la part de l’Institut de Leadership d’Akina Mama (AMWA). En 2015, sur la recommandation du Ministère des Affaires Etrangères des Etats Unis et de l’Agence des Etats Unis pour le Développement International (USAID), Abigail a représenté les Organisations de la Sociéte Civile (OSC) du Ghana lors de la réunion « African Growth and Opportunity Act » au Gabon.
Abigail a étudié à l’université du Ghana et a eu son Master I en Art en Anglais. Elle a obtenu son Master II en relation internationales de l’Université de Boston, Programme Européen, en Angleterre. A pan-African feminist with roots in Cameroon, Françoise Moudouthe is passionate about advocating for women’s rights and fostering sisterhood within African feminist movements.
Before joining the African Women’s Development Fund as CEO, Françoise established Eyala, a bilingual platform that amplifies the voices and lived experiences of African feminists, and worked as an international consultant for gender justice in Africa. She also played an instrumental role in incubating Girls Not Brides, the global civil society partnership to end child marriage, and in spearheading its growth in Africa.
Françoise is a Board member of the Malala Fund and Womankind Worldwide.
